Our Purpose
To provide love, hope, understanding and support to families facing the devastating loss of their child.
To ensure all families who have lost a child have a feeling of ‘not being alone’ when leaving hospital with empty arms, and that they receive the support they need to navigate this difficult grief journey.
What We Do at Precious Wings
The loss of a baby or child is a unique and life-altering tragedy. Every bereaved family deserves to be met with empathy, informed guidance, and meaningful support from the very first moment. The care they receive in those first hours and days shapes their grief journey forever.
At Precious Wings, we provide:
-
Memory Boxes – Supplied to Queensland and Northern NSW hospitals, health services and funeral homes for families experiencing the loss of a baby or child of any age from any cause. Each box not only provides tools to create tangible keepsakes and memories but also offers immediate support and connection to another bereaved family who understands their pain.
-
Miscarriage Bags – Provided to Queensland hospitals, health services ad GP practices for early losses (5–16 weeks gestation).
-
Legacy & Adult Memory Boxes – For families when an adult dies, leaving young children, and for adolescents/young adults with a terminal diagnosis.
-
Create Your Own Memory Boxes – Bereaved parents can make memory boxes in honour of their child at our Windsor headquarters, bringing their community together.
-
Beyond the Box Peer Support – Peer support programs, including memory box making, yoga, art therapy, social groups for bereaved mums and dads, groups for specific losses and for siblings and grandparents
-
Education & Training – Empowering health professionals with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to provide compassionate, consistent bereavement care and help families create meaningful memories during their time of loss.
All our services are provided free of charge.
